Artist of the Week: Brett Howard Nelson

About:


Brett Howard Nelson is a native of Seattle, Washington. He is a graphic designer, writer, and award-winning screenwriter, and fine art photographer. In 2019, he published "blur," a fine art photography book of various long-exposure subjects and locales. Aside from his love for the creative arts, he has a longtime interest in true crime and unsolved mystery cases. In 2021, he made his TV debut on "WHERE MURDER LIES," on Discovery+ and Investigation Discovery Channel.


Recently, Brett's screenplays won multiple awards on the festival circuit. "The Letter" won Best Short Screenplay at the New York Film Awards, and "Blood, Scum & Neon Lights" won Best Short Screenplay at FilmCon Awards.


Brett also won FilmCon's 24 hour screenwriting challenge with "The X-Files: The Curse of Skinwalker Ranch."


Two of his feature screenplays, "Spectrum" and "The Life & Times of a Cubicle-Crazy Co-Worker", are currently in development.
